Vera, Sveta, Flavia and Kaia out of US Open
So many players are pulling out of the 2012 US Open.
Vera Zvonareva has withdrawn because of a viral illness.
Vera lost in the final of the 2010 US Open to Kim Clijsters. She retired in her third-round match against Clijsters at Wimbledon this year because of illness, then was routed 6-1, 6-0 by Serena Williams at the Olympics.
Svetlana Kuznetsova, Kaia Kanepi and Flavia Pennetta will also miss the U.S. Open.
Kanepi withdrew from Wimbledon and the London Olympics because of a heel injury and it is almost certain that she will skip the last Grand Slam of the season because of this.
